TCard and UTORid

The UTSC TCard Office offers drop-in TCard pick up services during our office hours. For further information or assistance, please contact us at tcardoffice.utsc@utoronto.ca and include your full name and student number/UTORid. Email responses from the TCard Office may take 2-3 business days. 

All students are required to activate their UTORid. This step is necessary to process a TCard.

UTORid and TCard Information

UTORid is your login to U of T online services, providing access to UTmail+, ACORN, Quercus, and more.

TCard serves as your physical identification for U of T final exams and on-campus services, granting access to facilities such as the library, Pan Am, building and lab access, food services, and printing services.

Note: UTORid activation is required for TCard pickup. 

Step 1: Find your legal status in . Then, use the  to determine which documents, you must submit to verify your identity and legal status.

Step 2: Submit your photo for the TCard and your identity & legal status documentation via  Online Photo & Documentation Submission. Visit our for general photo and documentation requirements. 

Step 3: Once your submission has been approved, you will receive your Secret Activation Key (SAK) AND instructions on how to via email. Follow the steps to convert your JOINid to your UTORid and set up your U of T email. If your submission is denied, review the feedback and resubmit accordingly. 

Step 4: Drop by the UTSC Registrar's Office to pick up your TCard. Check our office operating hours and bring the appropriate  to obtain your card. 

Note: Students are encouraged to submit their request online however if you are unable to submit your photo and documentation online, you can visit our office with your documentation, have your photo taken in person, and be issued your TCard accordingly.) 

Step 1: Get your UTORid and SAK - Your UTORid and Secret Activation Key (SAK) can be found on the online services letter provided to you by your business officer/the Division of People Strategy, Equity & Culture. Contact your business officer if you have any difficulties/for more information. 

Step 2: Activate your UTORid - Go to  and enter your UTORid + SAK. 

Step 3: Submit your photo - Email the UTSC TCard Office at tcardoffice.utsc@utoronto.ca. Provide your staff number or UTORid in the email. Note: If you are unable to submit a photo using the guidelines below, your photo can be taken in our office at the time of your visit. Please follow these guidelines when attaching a photo: 

1. Take the photo against a white background 
2. Make sure your head is centred and eyes are looking into the camera 
3. Submit a colour photo 
4. Accurately represent your current appearance 
5. Submit a photo with a minimum of 300 x 370 pixels at 300 dpi, in a JPEG format with a maximum size of 6 MB 

Step 4: Pick up your TCard - Visit the TCard Office during office hours to pick up your card. During your visit you will be asked to provide valid government-issued ID to confirm your identity. 

If you fall into one of these categories and do not appear in HRIS, the department you are working for should apply for a Long-Term Guest UTORid and then submit the request to: reader.reg@utoronto.ca

If your personal information on ACORN (legal status/ first name/ surname) does not match your identity and legal status documentation, prior to picking up your TCard contact the Office of The Registrar for assistance to make the appropriate updates. Access the UTSC Library

You can access the  by providing a Canadian government-issued photo ID or a passport and your student number.

Access the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC)

You will need a 16-digit library barcode to access the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre without a TCard: 

Step 1: Login to the  to locate your library barcode. 

Step 2: Create a self-service account through .  You will need both your student number and 16-digit barcode to create an account. 

Step 3: Install the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre app and activate your account. Once you have completed all the steps you can simply scan the app to access TPASC.

Note: Once you’ve activated your account, you can no longer use your physical TCard to access TPASC. 

Note:  If you believe you lost your TCard on campus please check with the . If your lost TCard has been surrendered to the TCard office you will be notified by the TCard office via email. 

Step 1: Disable services on your TCard.

If you are not immediately replacing it: 
1.   Report your lost TCard to the Library at 416-978-7694 or visit the circulation desk of any U of T library. 
2.   If you have a meal plan or printing funds on your TCard, you can deactivate your TCard+ funds using the  (log in with your UTORid or click on Lost TCard). You can also report the loss to mealplan@utoronto.ca or 416-978-1309. 

Step 2: To pick up a replacement TCard visit the TCard Office during office hours and present the to confirm your identity, this includes valid government-issued ID. There is a $20 replacement fee (pay via credit card, debit card or . Cash is not accepted).

Please bring any lost TCards to the Office of the Registrar so we can alert the student that their card has been found.
