Management and Economics Students’ Association (MESA)

MESA is the official Departmental Student Association (DSA) within the Management Department at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½Ó¿Ú, representing over 3,000 Management and Economics students as an overarching umbrella organization that supports the development, growth, and success of more than a dozen unique clubs listed below. MESA is mandated to represent the academic and program-related concerns of all students in Management, as well as deliver innovative programming, activities, and events.

The Black Students in Business club at the University of Toronto Scarborough campus is a student-led group formed to create a comfortable and inclusive space for Black and Black-identifying students in the Management program.

The BSB team guides and prepares students for careers across the broader business umbrella through educational workshops, networking opportunities, and social events. Most importantly, BSB provides a safe networking space where salient professional connections are made.

MCG is the premier student consulting organization at the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½Ó¿Ú campus. Since its inception in 2015, the MCG’s goal has been twofold: to provide students with a realistic glimpse of what consulting is like; and, to equip them with hands-on experience by working directly with clients. MCG has engaged with a variety of businesses, from start-ups to corporations to universities, creating relevant short-term and long-term marketing, data, and financial strategy-based solutions.

UTSC SMF engages students by bridging the gap between the academic theory of finance and investments with real-world experience. The club is an innovative joint venture between the Department of Management, , and The BRIDGE.  Students gain experience managing an investment fund and participating in all stages of the investment process, from research and security election to trading, reporting, and compliance.

STRIVE is an annual case competition focused on accounting and finance while integrating various disciplines to help students gain a close-up understanding of what it takes to achieve success in their careers. The conference creates space for students seeking to advance their education and careers by providing them with case analysis practice. STRIVE delivers a case written in collaboration with leading industry partners, including previous engagements with Microsoft, Canadian Tire, KPMG, and TTC. STRIVE delegates have the unique opportunity to network with company executives and hear from extraordinary keynote speakers.
