Admissions FAQ (Management BBA and Co-op Management BBA)

Yes, students can apply to UTSC limited-enrollment programs, including the BBA Specialist Program in Management, in March and July of each year.

Students who have completed more than 10.0 credits will not be considered for admission to the program.

Students requesting admission after first year must complete required courses. For a complete list of courses, please refer to the .

Admission to the Management BBA program is competitive. The grades required are relatively high and vary from year to year.

The minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)  required is usually more than 3.0, depending upon the number of spaces available.

For Co-op Management, the minimum CGPA required is greater than that which is required for the Management BBA program.

Students can apply to the Management BBA program twice per year, in March and July. Official dates and deadlines to apply are published on the UTSC Registrar鈥檚 website

Applicants will be informed about admissions decisions by early May and mid-September when all grades have been received.

Students should immediately meet with their to plan their next term and enroll in courses on ACORN.

Any UTSC student may take MGTA01H3 and MGTA02H3.  

Any UTSC student may take Economics (MGE) courses; however, these courses usually have enrollment controls, which can be found on the timetable.

The Management BBA program is composed of optional Specializations in Accounting, Economics for Management Studies, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, and Strategic Management. You may also take a general BBA Specialist in Management program.

Each specialist program above is also offered with optional co-op.

The Management and International Business (MIB) BBA program is only offered as a co-op.

Additionally, the Double Degree program in Quantitative Finance and Statistics offers students the opportunity to earn a simultaneous BBA and BSc degree, with optional co-op.

All of our courses either meet or exceed the coursework requires to obtain a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. Our courses are also particularly useful for students planning to obtain a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and the Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) designation.

No, students may register in no more than one BBA specialization at any one time. Students enrolling in a Double Degree program are exempted.

The Specialist Program in Economics for Management Studies leads to a BBA degree and requires the completion of a significant number of Economics courses. The BBA is valuable for students who find a keen interest in Economics and those interested in graduate study in Economics or employment as business economists. The Major in Economics for Management Studies is a BA program with fewer courses. It must be combined with either another Major or two Minor programs in order to meet graduation requirements. For full program details, please visit the .

To apply to the Double Degree (BBA/BSc) program, students must have completed at least 5.0 credits (none of which can be designated as CR/NCR), including: , , , , , , , , , and /.
