I am a first gen, UofT Alumni, born and raised in Scarborough, passionate about building a supportive community and health promotion!

Experience/area of expertise: I am a Registered Nurse and worked in hospital and public health before joining the Health & Wellness Centre team at UTSC! I completed my BScN and MN at UofT.  

Things I love: Every day, I try to do something that makes me happy and appreciate the little things in life. I love making a bucket list and look forward to doing everything on that list one day!!

I was born in Vietnam and grew up in Canada. My background is Cantonese and Teowchew.

Experience/area of expertise: I have worked in health care for many years varying from client care to administration. I enjoy helping others; therefore I knew the medical field is where I wanted to be. I always welcome the opportunity to learn and grow, and I am excited to add my skill set and experiences to the Health & Wellness Team.

Things I love: I love going on walks and exploring nature and its beautiful scenery.

Edwina Axolu (she/her)
Front Desk Administrative Assistant for OSEW

I was born in Accra, Ghana and raised in Toronto.

Experience/area of expertise: I have been working as an Administrative Assistant at the Health & Wellness Center for several years, where I take pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere for students and providing essential support to my team members. My responsibilities include managing and submitting claims for the Ministry of Health and Cowan UHIP, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my role is helping students achieve their goals and supporting them on their journey to wellness. I am passionate about making a positive impact and always ready and willing to assist my colleagues with needs that arise. My dedication to providing excellent service and fostering a supportive environment drives me every day.

Things I love: Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and working out.

Rebeca Lopez-Leandro
Rebeca Lopez-Leandro (she/her)
Health & Wellness Centre Assistant

I鈥檓 a Latina Canadian living in Toronto. My parents originate from El Salvador and Bolivia.

Experience/Area of Expertise:

I went to Centennial College and studied Office Administration Medical. It has led me to work in the eye care field as an assistant and technician. I have also worked in a medical OHIP billing agency where I鈥檝e communicated with the Ministry of Health. I am eager to continue to gain experience and learn in my current position at UTSC. I hope to help all students who enter the Health and Wellness Centre.

Things I love:

I enjoy reading whether it is rom-coms, thriller or mystery, listening to music, and I also like being creative with eyeshadow makeup.

Wendy Schrader (she/her)

I was born and raised in Toronto and I am now living in the Durham Region.

Experience/area of expertise: I have spent the earlier years of my career working in the Information Technology field in different roles. In 2008 I returned to school to study Health Information at George Brown College and at the Canadian Healthcare Association. I have always had a passion for helping others by supporting their needs and goals. I look forward to gaining more experience, as well as sharing my own experience with the UTSC Health and Wellness Centre team.

Things I love: I love working out at the gym and I especially enjoy attending a Zumba class.
