How do I enroll in a co-op course?
- Preparation (COPB50 and COPB51)
- Seeking (COPB52, COPB53, COPC98, COPC99)
- On Work Term (course code varies depending on program - COPC01, COPC03. COPC05, COPC13, COPC14, COPC20, COPC30, COPC40)
When should I complete my co-op courses?
Student should enroll into Preparation courses on ACORN and complete both COPB50 and COPB51 in their first year of study. These courses are offered every semester and need to be completed before you begin your first job search semester.
Students can complete the courses in the following way:
- Option 1: Fall semester – COPB50 and Winter semester - COPB51
- Option 2: Winter semester – COPB50 and Summer semester – COPB51
- Option 3: Fall semester – COPB50 and Summer semester – COPB51
- For Fall enrollment – approvals take place in July, August and mid-September.
- For Winter enrollment – approvals take place in July, August, December and mid-January.
- For Summer enrollment – approvals take place in April and early May
COPB52 is completed the semester before your first work term
COPC98 is completed the semester before your second work term
COPB99 is completed the semester before your third work term
On Work Term Courses are enrolled based on your program of study:
COPC01: Co-op work term for Mathematical Sciences
COPC03: Co-op Work Term for Computer Sciences
COPC05: Co-op Work Term for Physical & Environmental Sciences
COPC13: Co-op Work Term for Social Sciences
COPC14: Co-op Work Term for Neuroscience
COPC20: Co-op Work Term for Humanities
COPC30: Co-op Work Term for Biological Sciences
COPC40: Co-op Work Term for Psychological & Health Sciences
COPC36: Co-op Work Term for Conservation & Biodiversity
You will select your preferred work term sequence option in your first semester of first year. You will find out more about this selection process at Arts & Science Co-op Orientation in September.

You will be automatically enrolled by the Co-op Office into all Preparation, Seeking and On Work Term courses each semester based your program of study and co-op work term sequence. You will see your on work term course appear on your timetable in April, August or December. To help plan your timetable, co-op course offerings can be found on the Registrar's Office Timetable website. |
Fall 2021 onward | Applicable to both direct admits from high school and internal admits | COPB50 | You need to enroll on ACORN to complete COPB50 during your first year. |

You need to enroll on ACORN to complete COPB51 at least two semesters prior to your first scheduled work term. (This is because after completing COPB51, you would take COPB52 to search for your first work term.) To enroll: 1. Select COPB51 2. Wait for approval from the Co-op office as permission is required. You will not officially be enrolled until approved. 3. Check your status through ACORN to see whether you have been approved. (APP = approval; REF = refused; INT = no decision yet) |
