Biography

Oded Oron Ph.D (University of Washington) 

Dr. Oded Oron is an Assistant Professor (Teaching Stream) in Political Science, specializing in Forced Migration, Social Movements, and Canadian Immigration Law. His dissertation, completed at the University of Washington, focused on the mobilization of African migrants in Israel and undocumented migrant movements in the United States. In Israel, Oded had a distinguished career in media, working with leading outlets such as YNET News and Ha鈥檃retz, and served as a Senior Manager at the Government Press Office. Before relocating to Toronto, he was the Assistant Director of Cornell Hillel. Currently, he serves as the Manager of Data, Research, and Evaluations at JIAS Toronto, a settlement agency supporting newcomers. In 2021, Oded earned his certification as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, deepening his expertise in the Canadian immigration system and immigration law.
