Join colleagues on campus 15 October, 12-1:30 pm to kick off this year鈥檚 theme with a lunch discussion sponsored by the  (MEAD) Advisory Committee to explore how university infrastructures are necessary for not just mentorship, but for how all our well-being might be 鈥渞epaired.鈥 Professor Leslie Chan will share insights from his co-authored paper .  Lunch will be provided. Inquiries can be directed to Eileen Egan-Lee, Faculty Development Administrator.

The first three of four planned modules provide an important first step in foundational Unconscious Bias education, and can be accessed by faculty, librarians and staff at our three campuses through  (ideally as an integrated part of a program of education).

Each module should take about 30 minutes to complete.

    • Examples of how Unconscious Bias can lead to unfair assessment in contexts relevant to our work at the University
    • Explores unconscious bias in committee deliberations, offers suggestions for interrupting biases

Modules are also available to the public via the .

Modules were created at UTSC in an initiative led by Professor Maydianne Andrade, Department of Biological Sciences at UTSC, with input from University of Toronto faculty members who serve as part of the Toronto Initiative for Diversity & Excellence (TIDE). This project would not have been possible without additional financial support from the Division of the Vice President and Provost, Faculty of Arts & Science, Faculty of Applied Science & Engineering, and UTM.
