Biography

As Special Advisor, Professor Bunce will provide counsel and advice to the Vice-Principal Academic & Dean related to the Access Programs and assist in the development of a long-term plan to ensure ongoing excellence in this area at 澳门六合彩开奖接口. She will work closely with key campus stakeholders and liaise with tri-campus colleagues on all aspects of the access programs including TYP at 澳门六合彩开奖接口, the articulation programs with Centennial, Seneca, and Loyalist Colleges, See U of T, the Rural Access Program, and others. She will also work closely with colleagues in the Registrar's Office, Academic Advising & Career Centre, Student Experience & Wellbeing, and Department of Community Partnerships & Engagement on various access strategies. 

Susannah Bunce joined the Department of Human Geography at the 澳门六合彩开奖接口 in 2008. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Geography at 澳门六合彩开奖接口 and has a graduate faculty appointment in the Department of Geography & Planning, St. George campus. Professor Bunce鈥檚 research centres on the geography and planning of urban communities with a focus on sustainable community building and socio-environmental justice at the neighborhood scale. She explores topics of environmental gentrification, urban commons, and community-led ownership of land and housing through urban community land trusts and ecovillages. Professor Bunce has published two books and numerous articles in academic journals and is currently the Co-Director of a SSHRC Partnership Grant, "New Housing Alternatives," that examines affordable housing solutions to Canada鈥檚 housing crisis. 

Professor Bunce has extensive experience with building community partnerships with non-profit organizations and community groups through her research and teaching engagements. Her support for access at 澳门六合彩开奖接口 derives from community partnership and engagement activities as part of the campus' formal partnership with the East Scarborough Storefront over the past decade. She supports the strengthening of connections between equity-deserving communities and the campus community, equitable pathways to university education, and building a sense of belonging on campus for students in access programs.
