Incorporating Treaty Education into Curriculum

The session will include an overview on the impacts of the Treaty relationship and how this has contributed to the relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. An overview of current treaty education resources will be shared including: We Are All Treaty People’ teacher’s kit,  ‘Gdoo-Sastamoo Kii Mi, Understanding our Nation-to-Nation Relationship kit and guide,  ‘Ezhi-Nawending: How We Are Related’ and ‘Gdoo-Sastamoo Kii Mi: This is Our Understanding’, digital Treaty resources. 

The session will also include the sharing of our personal treaty education journeys. Participants will learn the importance of treaty education and how to incorporate treaty education into their curriculum and professional practice. This interactive session will provide tools and tips that are necessary to start or continue their own treaty learning.
