Randy Lundy is of Cree, Irish, and Norwegian descent. He is a member of the Barren Lands First Nation, Brochet, MB.

Randy was born in the mining community of Thompson, Manitoba, and after a brief time living in Quesnel, BC, he was raised in and near the logging community of Hudson Bay, in the parkland region of east-central SK, where he lived a short walk from the confluence of the Fir, Etamomi, and Red Deer rivers. Prior to coming to Scarborough, he lived for more than twenty years in and around Regina, SK, in Treaty 4 territory.

Randy has published five books of poetry (with a sixth forthcoming), in addition to publishing individual works of short fiction, literary non-fiction, and academic essays. His poems have been widely anthologized, in Canada and abroad, including in the seminal texts An Anthology of Indigenous Literatures in English (Oxford UP) and Native Poetry in Canada (Broadview). He regularly teaches courses in both creative writing and Indigenous Literatures.

He is Series Editor for Oskana Poetry & Poetics, University of Regina Press.
