Film synopsis:
Seven months after helping her terminally ill mother have a 鈥済ood death鈥 in home-hospice, filmmaker Judith Helfand becomes a 鈥渘ew old鈥 single mother at 50. Overnight, she鈥檚 pushed to deal with her 鈥渟tuff鈥: 63 boxes of her parent鈥檚 heirlooms overwhelming her office-turned-future-baby鈥檚 room, the weight of her mother had begged her to lose, and the reality of being a half century older than her daughter. Told in the first person, in deep consultation with the past 鈥 as in 25 year of family footage 鈥 LOVE & STUFF explores the transformative power of parenting, our complex and very emotional attachment to 鈥渟tuff,鈥 and what it is we really need to leave our children.
