How to Hire Our Students

Our students are available to begin working in January, May or September, and recruitment can begin as early as four months prior to the start of the position.

Post a Job Directly to the U of T Co-op Portal

On the U of T Co-op Portal, you’ll have autonomy over the co-op recruitment and hiring process. The portal will allow you to do all the following in one place:

  • View your dedicated support team
  • Post jobs and view all your job postings
  • Repost or extend previous jobs easily
  • See all applications in real time, screen, and review them
  • Request interview scheduling support
  • Keep your organization’s page updated so that it can serve as a promotional hub for students

Our 3-step Hiring Process:

1. Contact us directly to post a job for you.

You will receive our students' applications shortly after your job posting closing date.

2. Choose your candidates. Call or email us to schedule the interviews.  

Make your final choice. We will liaise with the student and present job offers on your behalf.

3. Put us to work for you — at no charge

We'll work directly with you to find the perfect fit for your recruitment needs. Some of the ways in which we can assist you in the hiring process include:

  • Developing an effective job description
  • Actively advertising co-op opportunities to our students
  • Batch delivering applications via email or courier
  • Pre-qualifying of candidates upon request
  • Scheduling interviews with your chosen candidates (in your office or ours!)
  • Extending offers of employment
