Richard Pancer received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto in 1982 and 1985, respectively. For the past 20 years he has worked as a full- and part-time Computer Science Lecturer on all three campuses of the University of Toronto. In 1999 he joined the Department of Computer & Mathematical Sciences on a permanent basis. His research interests are primarily in the area of parallel numerical computation, in particular the parallel numerical solution of boundary-value problems (BVPs) for ordinary differential equations (ODEs). Other interests include shared and distributed-memory parallel computer architectures and data visualization as an aid in teaching and research. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 2006, in the field of Numerical Analysis. In 2007 he received the CAIMS Doctoral Dissertation Award for .
