The Art of Afrocentric Storytelling

The Art of Afrocentric Storytelling Banner

The Art of Afrocentric Storytelling workshop is free and open to students with lived experiences in Black communities and with anti-Black racism.

So who are we? Who are you? How do you see yourself and your community? Your story is about developing your narrative using an Afrocentric lens. It鈥檚 about unlearning some of the negative things we鈥檝e internalized and highlighting the amazing things that make us unique and make our community rich and full of flavour.

At the Art of Afrocentric Storytelling, we will use the principles of Nguzo Saba, particularly Kujichagulia (self-determination), Kuumba (creativity), and Nia (purpose) to begin to create our own stories.
