UTSC Partners in Leadership Alumni Mentorship Program

Program Summary

The goal of the UTSC Partners in Leadership (PIL) alumni mentorship program is to tap into the vast professional experience of 澳门六合彩开奖接口 alumni to help our graduating students transition from student life to life beyond university. Whether they are starting their working career, heading to graduate school, or doing something else, our network of 65,000+ alumni has been there before, and we want to help you pass your knowledge and experience on to the next generation of UTSC alumni.

The 2024-25 PIL program will allow you to mentor a graduating student in a one-on-one setting while also having the opportunity to meet and mentor other student mentees at our in-person and online events over the course of roughly six months. From the program launch in mid-November 2024 until the program closes in late April 2025, you will connect with your mentee and share your wisdom and experience while answering questions they have about what the post-university transition looks like.

To aid you in these discussions you will be provided with a program handbook that will guide you on:

  • How to best support your mentee
  • What UTSC resources they can access to aid in their job search or graduate school application
  • Suggestions for what conversations and questions they may have at each point of the program
  • How to help your mentee with goal-setting
  • Setting boundaries with your mentee
  • And much more

How We Match Mentors and Mentees

Our goal is to match student mentees with alumni mentors who best model the career path the students want to emulate. In order to do this we have a PIL mentor interest form where we collect information about our mentors' careers, and how they can best support our students. This information will be used to create a brief profile of each mentor on our website and this mentor list will give students a taste of who may be mentoring them should they join the program.

Local mentors and mentees will then have a chance to meet at our program launch event on Thursday, November 14th before mentees rank their top mentor choices. Using mentor and mentee program applications, as well as students mentor rankings, staff from the Alumni Relations team and the university Academic Advising & Career Centre will then pair mentors and mentees.
